Site specific installation in Budafabriek by 51N4E Architects These pathways guide people through and around space. Or they allow a passer-by to repose a minute – as one might do on a curb stone. Barriers is a site-specific installation, originally meant as an entranceway for Budafabriek, a site designed by 51N4E Architects in Kortrijk. But it could be repeated and adapted, according to different circumstances or contexts. It consists of a variable number of sculpted, concrete barriers and obstacles, rhythmically placed within the landscape, both subtle and determinant. Pictures by Luca Beel
